Ann Hamlin is an autistic young adult who communicates using a Rapid Prompting Method (RPM). She writes poems, essays, and songs in collaboration with of Meridith Powers, a music therapist.

God hears me
When no words come out of my mouth.
God, please keep on hearing me.
God is my friend.

God, I hear you in the morning when I wake up;
I hear your sweet sound all day long.
Even when I can’t understand you,

Ann Hamlin

Ann Hamlin is autistic and non-verbal. She uses an iPad and talking board to communicate. Ann’s dad, Bob Hamlin, attends the Neighborhood Church of the Brethren in Montgomery, Illinois, where she feels warmly welcomed.
